South African president plans to attend BRICS summit in Russia's Kazan
LONDON. Aug 7 (Interfax) - South African President Cyril Ramaphosa plans to visit Russia to attend a BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in October, presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said on Wednesday.
"The plan is for the president to lead the South Africa delegation to attend. The president will be in attendance of this summit," Magwenya said at a press briefing in Pretoria.
South Africa is satisifed with the work done by the BRICS member states, he said.
BRICS will hold a summit in Kazan on October 22-24.
Russia has held the BRICS presidency since January 1, 2024.
