New UN resident coordinator in Ukraine appointed
MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Irina Borovets met with outgoing UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown and her successor Matthias Schmale on Monday.
Borovets noted the personal contribution of Brown to the promotion of restorations in close coordination between the UN team and the Ukrainian government and cooperation with local authorities, communities, non-governmental organizations and volunteer initiatives, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's press service.
"The Ukrainian side appreciates the interaction with the UN Office in Kiev and plans to continue productive cooperation under the leadership by Matthias Schmale," the statement said.
