DTEK commissioned 11 new coal faces in Jan-July, plans 16 more by 2025

MOSCOW. Aug 6 (Interfax) - Ukraine's DTEK Energy, which is part of the DTEK energy holding, commissioned 11 new coal faces in January-July 2024 to meet the needs of thermal power plants during summer peaks and build sufficient inventory for the upcoming heating season, Ukrainian media reported, quoting the energy holding.

DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Saleyev was quoted as saying in a press release that the company was carrying out its plan to commission 27 new coal faces this year. "We have already commissioned 11, and we are planning another 16 in August-December," he said.

DTEK Energy commissioned 26 new coal faces in 2023.

DTEK Energy is an integrated coal and power generating company. Its coal division mines and processes coal, and produces and services mining equipment.

DTEK is Ukraine's biggest privately owned generating company. The holding was set up in 2025 to manage the energy assets of Rinat Akhmetov's System Capital Management group.
