Ukrenergo not planning scheduled power cuts on Monday

MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - No power consumption restrictions are planned in Ukraine on Monday, August 5, Ukrainian media have reported with reference to the national power grid operator Ukrenergo's post on its social account.

"Use powerful electric appliances from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. as far as possible," it said.

Should the situation change, Ukrenergo said it would make a special announcement on possible power supply limitations.

Ukrenergo also said the amount of electricity consumed on Sunday, August 4, was the lowest after the power supply restrictions were lifted on July 30 and 5.2% lower than on Saturday, August 3.

"The reason is cool weather and typically lower consumption on the second day of a weekend," it said.

As of 9:30 a.m. on Monday, power consumption was roughly at the same level it was on the previous working day, August 2, Ukrenergo said.

At the same time, power supply has been cut fully or partially for various reasons to 492 populated areas across Ukraine, it said.
