Kazakhstan, Republic of the Congo sign documents on energy, cybersecurity, space cooperation

ASTANA. Aug 2 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan and the Republic of the Congo have signed a number of documents on cooperation during President Denis Sassou Nguesso of the Republic of the Congo's official visit, the Kazakh presidential press service said on Friday.

In particular, the countries signed an agreement on visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic passports.

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry and the Congolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie, and Congolese Abroad have concluded a memorandum of political consultations.

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry and the Republic of the Congo's Ministry of Postal Service, Telecommunications, and Digital Economy to promote cooperation in the IT, e-government, space exploration, and cybersecurity fields.

The Kazakh Industry and Construction Ministry and the Congolese Mining Industry and Geology Ministry have concluded a memorandum of cooperation in the mining industry and geology sector.

A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the power industry sector has been signed between the Kazakh Energy Ministry and the Congolese Energy and Hydropower Ministry.

The Astana international financial center in Kazakhstan and the Congolese Economy and Finance Ministry also concluded a memorandum of understanding.

The Kazakh national oil and gas company KazMunayGas has concluded a cooperation agreement with the National Petroleum Company of the Congo.

The parties also signed memorandums on cooperation on information and communication technology, remote Earth sensing, and cybersecurity.
