Kremlin open to considering WSJ reporter Gershkovich's request for interview with Putin - Peskov
MOSCOW. Aug 2 (Interfax) - The Kremlin is ready to consider a request for an interview from any foreign media outlet and journalist, including Evan Gershkovich of The Wall Street Journal, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told journalists in reply to a corresponding question on Friday.
"Any foreign media outlet can do that, and many of them have requested an interview with the [Russian] president. If such a request appears, we'll consider it. If the president sees fit to give an interview to a foreign media outlet, he'll do that," Peskov said.
As reported earlier, Gershkovich proposed in an official pardon plea submitted before Thursday's prisoner swap that Vladimir Putin give him an interview.
