Armenian, British general staff chiefs discuss broader cooperation in London

YEREVAN. Aug 1 (Interfax) - Armenian and British military officials have discussed bilateral military cooperation and the possibilities of its further expansion.

A delegation led by First Deputy Defense Minister, General Staff Chief Lieut. Gen. Edvard Asryan attended an annual Land Warfare Conference in London, the Armenian Defense Ministry's press service said.

Asryan met with British General Staff Chief Gen. Roland Walker on the conference's sidelines, the press service said.

"The current framework of bilateral military cooperation and the possibilities of further developing and expanding it were discussed," it said.

"The conference organized under the aegis of the British Royal United Services Institute aims to study land warfare threats and possible methods for containing them, and to familiarize the audience with respective partner solutions and the latest military-political and industrial events," it said.
