State Duma to continue working on migration legislation - State Duma chairman

MOSCOW. July 31 (Interfax) - Work on legislation concerning migration issues will continue, Russian State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said.

"We are continuing to consider 22 bills aimed at regulating migration control, the legal situation of foreign citizens, issues relating to granting citizenship. This work will continue," Volodin said in his speech at the final session of the State Duma's spring session.

A special commission on these issues has been created in the State Duma, but migration problems need to be solved in collaboration with the government, he said.

"The government is now hearing MPs better, interaction has become more effective," Volodin said. He offered words of appreciation to "the prime minister, the ministers, not all of them." "But most still hear, they are having a dialogue, and there are results," Volodin said.

Closing the session, Volodin said that "MPs do not have vacations."

"We are facing work in constituencies. There will be reports to voters, there will definitely be orders," Volodin said.

The State Duma will resume sessions in early September.
