Azerbaijan's Central Bank retains refinancing rate at 7.25% pa

BAKU. July 31 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Azerbaijan decided to retain the refinancing rate, or discount rate, at 7.25% per annum during a meeting on July 31, the bank said in a press release.

The Central Bank said that the lower threshold of the interest rate corridor has been retained at 6.25% pa and the upper threshold has been retained at 8.25% pa.

The CBA has decided to retain the refinancing rate for the second consecutive time. The regulator had previously reduced the refinancing rate three consecutive times by 25 basis points each time since the beginning of 2024.

The CBA plans to hold its next meeting on the refinancing rate on September 18.
