Russian Agricultural Bank says UnionPay can still be used abroad
MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Russian Agricultural Bank (RusAg) UnionPay cards can still be used abroad, the bank said on Telegram.
"RusAg UnionPay cards can still be used abroad," it said.
RusAg said earlier that holders of UnionPay cards might have problems with settlements on them abroad starting July 19, and recommended that customers who were abroad or intended to travel abroad should withdraw cash.
UnionPay cards are currently issued in Russia by Gazprombank , Asia-Pacific Bank, Primsotsbank and Credit Ural Bank.
UnionPay is one of China's largest payment systems. UnionPay cards are issued in more than 80 countries and can be used to pay for goods and services and withdraw cash in 183 countries, the system's website said.
