Armenian, Turkish envoys agree to start restoring railway border crossing - Armenian Foreign Ministry
YEREVAN. July 30 (Interfax) - Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kilic, Armenia's and Turkey's special representatives for the normalization of bilateral relations, have agreed to ease visa procedures for holders of diplomatic passports and start the restoration of a railway border crossing between the two countries.
"The special representatives for a settlement process between Armenia and Turkey, Armenian National Assembly Deputy Chairman Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kilic, met for the fifth time at the Margara-Alican border crossing on July 30. They reaffirmed the agreements reached at the previous meetings," it said.
The parties also agreed "to evaluate technical needs in line with regional development to ensure the functioning of the Akhurik-Akyaka railway border crossing and mutually ease visa procedures for holders of diplomatic and official passports," it said.
"The parties reiterated the agreement to continue the process of normalizing relations without any preconditions to achieve the ultimate goal of a complete normalization between the two countries," it said.
