Ukrenergo not planning power supply restrictions in Ukraine on Tuesday

MOSCOW. July 30 (Interfax) - Regional power operators in Ukraine are not planning to apply hour-by-hour outage schedules on Tuesday, Ukrainian media reported citing the national power grid operator Ukrenergo as announcing on its social account.

"The reason is a decline in electricity consumption due to colder weather and the resumption of operations of two nuclear power generating units," it said.

Adverse weather prompted power supply cuts to 116 communities in the Kiev, Zhitomir, Sumy, and Chernigov regions on Tuesday morning, and 501 other populated areas across Ukraine had no electricity for other reasons, Ukrenergo said.

On the whole, the level of power consumption on Tuesday was roughly the same as it was on Monday, July 29.
