Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing data
MOSCOW. July 29 (Interfax) - The number of Ukrainian border crossings decreased by 0.4% to 705,000 on July 21-26.
The number of arrivals grew from 354,000 to 363,000, while the number of departures decreased from 354,000 to 342,000, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement by the State Border Guard Service on a social network.
The number of cleared vehicle slightly declined over the week, from 132,000 to 131,000, and the number of humanitarian trucks decreased from 603 to 568.
As for traffic by day of the week, border guards say that outbound traffic is traditionally heavier on weekends and the days before them, while inbound traffic grows on weekends and on Mondays.
The service said there was "a certain concentration of vehicles departing from Ukraine" at the Krakovets, Rava Russka, Grushiv and especially Shegini checkpoints on the Polish border over the week.
According to an update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, there were 6.580 million Ukrainian refugees worldwide, including 6.021 million in Europe, as of July 15, 2024, which is 25,000 and 24,000 more than a month before, respectively.
The UN estimated the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.548 million as of April 2024, which is 141,000 less than at the year beginning.
