Ukrainian govt approves $3.9-bln grant from U.S. to finance wages, social security programs - PM
MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has approved $3.9 billion in a grant from the United States through the World Bank's institutions to be used to pay wages to rescuers, teachers, and healthcare workers, as well as to finance social security programs, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.
"The government today makes a decision to attract $3.9 billion in a grant from the United States of America. The funding will be provided through World Bank institutions," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Tuesday.
Ukraine expects to receive the money shortly, he said.
