Ukraine expects to go through winter using only own gas - PM

MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - Ukraine expects to go through the upcoming winter using only natural gas of its own production, as it did during the past heating season, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said.

"Another aspect of our energy resilience is increasing our own gas production. Just as in the past heating season, we expect to go through the [upcoming] winter using gas of our own, Ukrainian production," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at a government meeting on Tuesday.

Ukraine has injected over 10 billion cubic meters of gas into its gas storage facilities and intends to bring this figure to more than 13 billion cubic meters by November, he said.
