Russia extends sugar export restrictions until April 28, 2025

MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - Russia's Agriculture Ministry has permitted exports of only one tonne of sugar under export agreements in the period from August 1, 2024 to April 28, 2025, a ministry order registered by the Justice Ministry on July 22 and posted on the official website for legal information showed.

The ministry has essentially extended restrictions in effect since August 1, 2021, which were set to expire on July 31, 2024. The only difference from past years is that this extension is for a shorter period, until April 28, 2025, rather than for the full agricultural year, which for sugar runs from August to July.
