Vatican secretary of state on visit to Ukraine
MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal has met with Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who arrived in Ukraine on a visit, in Kiev.
"Ukraine counts on the Holy See's involvement and assistance in rebuilding the medical infrastructure in Ukraine," Shmygal was quoted by Ukrainian media as saying on social media.
Parolin's visit to Ukraine and his visit to Ukrainian cities during the crisis "testifies to the high level of attention to our state," Shmygal said.
Lvov Mayor Andrei Sadovy said earlier that the Vatican secretary of state would visit Ukraine. "This is actually the second most senior person in the Vatican after the Pope. He will be in Ukraine for several days and will visit Odessa, Kiev and Zhitomir region," Sadovy was quoted by the media as saying on social media.
