Russian companies reporting no disruptions due to Microsoft outage - Roskomnadzor
MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - No reports of problems due to the widespread Microsoft Windows outage were received from Russian companies as of midday on Friday, the Public Network Monitoring and Control Center of the Russian telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor said in a statement.
"No information on disruptions caused by this problem was received from Russian companies as of midday," it said.
"A massive disruption is being recorded with equipment running the Windows operating system because of the software of U.S. cybersecurity company CrowdStrike," it said.
"The outage has affected a large number of organizations in all sectors. The problem emerged after a CrowdStrike software update, which disconnected equipment from the computer network and started an endless reboot loop," it said.
Disruptions have been reported by banks, airlines, medical establishments and other organizations in Australia, the United States, Israel, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany and other countries, the center said.
The Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media said earlier that it had not been alerted to any problems in Russian airports' systems due to a major Microsoft service outage.
Global media outlets said earlier that a major outage in Microsoft systems caused disruptions for various users in a large number of countries, including at airports.
