Russian airports reporting no problems following Microsoft outage - ministry

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - The Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media has not been alerted to any problems in Russian airports' systems due to a major Microsoft service outage, a ministry representative told journalists.

"The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media has not thus far received any reports on problems in the systems at Russian airports," the representative said.

"This Microsoft situation once again highlights the importance of replacing imported foreign software, first and foremost, at critical information infrastructure," he said.

Global media outlets said earlier that a major outage in Microsoft systems caused disruptions for various users in a large number of countries, including at airports.
