Russian Agricultural Bank to suspend settlements with UnionPay cards abroad from July 19

MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax) - Holders of Russian Agricultural Bank (RusAg) UnionPay cards may have problems with settlements on them abroad starting July 19, the bank's call center told Interfax.

"Problems may arise with settlements with Rusag UnionPay cards from July 19," it said.

The bank also recommended that customers who are abroad or intend to travel abroad withdraw cash soon.

The bank said later on Telegram that settlements with Rusag UnionPay cards abroad would be suspended from July 19.

"If you are outside Russia, we recommend withdrawing cash from UnionPay cards before that date. We remind you that the daily cash withdrawal limit is 500,000 rubles or the equivalent in foreign currency," the bank said.

The cards can be used without restriction in Russia. The bank will inform clients about any changes separately.

UnionPay cards are currently issued in Russia by Gazprombank , Asia-Pacific Bank, Primsotsbank and Credit Ural Bank.

UnionPay is one of China's largest payment systems. UnionPay cards are issued in more than 80 countries and can be used to pay for goods and services and withdraw cash in 183 countries, the system's website said.
