Novorossiysk Grain Plant boosts export shipments 30% in June to 784,142 tonnes, most since Oct 2020

KRASNODAR. July 17 (Interfax) - Novorossiysk Grain Plant , part of the United Grain Company (UGC) group and one of the largest deep-sea grain terminals in the Azov-Black Sea basin, shipped 784,142 tonnes of grain for export in June, the company said.

This was 30% more than in June 2023 and the most the plant has shipped since the 803,275 tonnes it handled in October 2020.

The shipments grew 10.5% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 4.23 million tonnes.

The priority destinations are still Africa, the Middle East and Asia, in particular Egypt, Bangladesh, Turkey and Iran.

Novorossiysk Grain Plant's total storage capacity is 250,000 tonnes, and the depths at the quay wall allow for handling vessels with deadweight of up to 72,000 tonnes.

The plant shipped a record 7.9 million tonnes of grain for export in 2023, up 70% from 2022.

United Grain Company owns 51% of Novorossiysk Grain Plant, according to its list of affiliates as of June 30. Demetra Holding owns 35.36%.
