Ukraine's Energoatom reconnects 1,000 MW nuclear power plant unit to grid ahead of schedule following maintenance
MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Energoatom has reconnected another power unit to the network ahead of schedule after reloading nuclear fuel and completing planned maintenance and repairs, Ukrainian media quoted it as saying on social media.
"Thanks to the prompt actions of Ukrainian nuclear industry workers, the power unit's return to work as usual will strengthen the domestic power grid considerably," the company said.
All the company's other power units in territory controlled by Ukraine are operating as planned.
Energoatom has said power ramp-up takes some time after a unit has been reconnected to the grid following maintenance.
Ukraine has nine nuclear power units with a total capacity of 7,800 MW at the Rovno, Khmelnytsky and South Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
