UNHCR to allocate $100 mln to help Ukraine prepare for winter
MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has announced a new aid package of $100 million to help Ukraine prepare for the winter, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's press service.
Zelensky has met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, the press service said. According to Zelensky, Ukraine needs additional support to restore housing and make shelters at schools and hospitals.
Grandi, in turn, said that it is his fifth visit to Ukraine since the start of the crisis.
The parties also discussed the launch of a new information website, Ukraine is Home, which will operate with the UNHCR's support, providing all necessary information to Ukrainians willing to return to their home country.
