Kazakhstan aims to increase gas production 2.3% to 60.5 bcm in 2024

ASTANA. July 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan plans to produce 60.5 billion cubic meters of gas in 2024, an increase of 2.3% from 2023, Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said.

"The increase in gas production is mainly expected to be supported by large fields, such as Karachaganak, Tengiz and Kashagan," Satkaliyev said at a Tuesday meeting of the government in Astana.

In January-June 2024 Kazakhstan produced 30 billion cubic meters of gas, according to the minister.

This year, the republic expects to produce 29.8 billion cubic meters of sale gas and 1.6 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas.

The Energy Ministry said earlier that Kazakhstan plans to produce 60.456 billion cubic meters of gas in 2024. The country produced 59.063 bcm in 2023.
