Tajikistan's GDP grew 8.2% in H1

DUSHANBE. July 15 (Interfax) - Tajikistan's GDP grew 8.2% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 61.7 billion somoni or about $5.7 billion, said Firdavs Tolibzoda, governor of the National Bank of Tajikistan.

The bank's press office quoted Tolibzoda as saying inflation for the period was 1.9%, which is 0.4 percentage points less than in January-June last year.

The National Bank said it lowered the refinancing rate from 9.5% to 9.25% from May 1 given that inflation rate had remained at the lower bound of the target range and that household inflation expectations had improved.
