Ukrainian PM, World Bank delegation discuss cooperation priorities, Kiev's needs
MOSCOW. July 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and a delegation of the World Bank, led by its Executive Director Eugene Rhuggenaath, have discussed cooperation priorities and Ukraine's needs.
"We appreciate the financial support of our partners, including the U.S., the EU and the [International Monetary Fund] IMF. We are working to ensure that next year is just as predictable and stable," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Shmygal as saying in a statement on social media.
Shmygal briefed the World Bank delegation on the priorities of the rapid recovery program, which include restoring the energy sector, critical infrastructure and housing, mine-clearance, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
"Energy remains a major challenge. I informed the World about about steps to build a decentralized energy system and work to increase electricity imports from the EU," he said.
