Russian govt in final stage of developing Energy Strategy 2050 - Deputy PM Novak

MOSCOW. July 12 (Interfax) - The Russian government is in the final stage of developing the country's Energy Strategy 2050, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in a column for the Energy Policy publication.

"Upon instruction of the Russian president, Energy Strategy 2050 is in the final stage, with the objectives of reducing the negative impact of the fuel and energy sectors on the environment and adapting them to climate change," Novak said in the column.

Former Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov in February said that the document was planned for approval in June. The strategy was originally envisaged for development in the first half of 2023, then by the end of 2023.
