Capital investment in Azerbaijan's economy rose 9.4% in H1

BAKU. July 10 (Interfax) - Capital investment in Azerbaijan's economy rose 9.4% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 7.985 billion manat, the State Statistics Committee said.

Investment in the oil and gas sector grew 4.5% and investment in the non-oil sector grew 12.6%.

Production facilities received 4.373 billion manat or 54.8% of all capital investment, while 2.747 billion manat or 34.4% was invested in the construction of service sector facilities and 864.3 million manat in housing construction, 10.8% of the total. Construction and installation accounted for 69% or 5.513 billion manat of the investment.

Foreign investment amounted to 1.533 billion manat or 19.2% of all capital investment, and local investment to 6.452 billion manat or 80.8%.

Capital investment rose 9.8% in 2023.
