Ukraine's Interpipe delivers debut supply of pipe products to Australia

MOSCOW. July 10 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Interpipe, a global producer of steel pipes and railway products, has shipped a trial consignment of pipe products to Australia, namely special thick-walled pipes for the Australian manufacturer of premium drilling equipment, Harlsen Industries, Ukrainian media reported, citing Interpipe's press release.

"This order, with strict requirements for pipe quality, was carried out in cooperation with a German partner. For shipment and customs clearance of products to Australia, Interpipe engaged a logistics company from the Netherlands," the company said in the press release.

"The Australian client has been purchasing pipes in the EU for years, but decided to pay attention to producers from other regions. Interpipe is already known in the world. We have been invited for cooperation, as the customer was impressed by our position regarding sustainable development and integrated supply chain," Ivan Mazanka, Interpipe Pipe Sales Director for European markets, said in the press release.

"This order turned out to be difficult. The production process and logistics were not typical, which is why partners in Europe were involved," Mazanka said.

"At the same time, successful execution of the order may unlock the door to other consumers in Australia for us," he said.

Interpipe is a Ukraine-based global producer of steel pipes and railway products. The company supplied 387,000 tonnes of pipes and 95,000 tonnes of railway products in 2023.

Ukrainian entrepreneur Viktor Pinchuk and his family members are the ultimate owners of Interpipe Limited.
