Russian Railways to invest over 300 bln rubles in eastern railways in 2025

TYNDA. July 9 (Interfax) - Russian Railways (RZD) plans to invest a comparable amount of money in the development of eastern railways in 2025 to what it is spending this year, the deputy head of the company, Andrei Makarov told reporters, recalling that RZD has budgeted 360 billion rubles for the second and third phases of these railways for 2024.

He said "336 billion rubles is the second phase, meaning construction with completion of infrastructure that is planned for this year, and 25 billion rubles is the design of already the third phase, so that we can enter it smoothly, without a pause."

"We already plan to start building the first facilities next year," Makarov added.

Asked how much RZD plans to spend on eastern railways in 2025, he said the amount will be comparable to this year. "Not 360 billion rubles, but approximately at this level. The order of the figures should be maintained," Makarov said.
