Russia posts consolidated budget surplus of nearly 560 bln rubles in Jan-May

MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax) - Russia posted a consolidated budget surplus of 559.6 billion rubles in January-May 2024 according to preliminary estimates, the Federal Treasury posted on its website.

Comparatively, the consolidated budget posted a deficit of nearly 2.357 trillion rubles in January-May 2023.

Consolidated budget revenues totaled nearly 27.822 trillion rubles in January-May, and expenses totaled around 27.262 trillion rubles.

The federal budget deficit totaled 730.4 billion rubles in January-May 2024, and the Finance Ministry had previously estimated it at 983 billion rubles for the period.

A downward revision in federal budget expenditures in January-May resulted in adjusting this figure to nearly 15.023 trillion rubles, according to the Federal Treasury, while the Finance Ministry had estimated them at 15.272 trillion rubles.

Federal budget revenues totaled around 14.292 trillion rubles in January-May.

The consolidated budgets of Russia's constituent entities posted a surplus of 974.2 billion rubles in January-May, with regional budget revenues totaling nearly 9.225 trillion rubles and expenses reaching nearly 8.251 trillion rubles.

The budgets of state extra-budgetary funds posted a surplus of 210.3 billion rubles in January-May. The funds' incomes totaled nearly 7.697 trillion rubles, while expenses totaled around 7.486 trillion rubles.

The budgets of territorial state extra-budgetary funds posted a surplus of 105.6 billion rubles for the period, with revenues totaling about 1.372 trillion rubles and expenses totaling nearly 1.267 trillion rubles.
