Sberbank could merge six additional financial institutions with SberPay
ST. PETERSBURG. July 5 (Interfax) - Sberbank is in talks with six financial institutions to join SberPay, Sberbank First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board Kirill Tsarev told reporters on the sidelines of the Financial Congress of the Central Bank of Russia.
Payment turnover in online stores without entering card details and offline using a QR code and biometrics via SberPay exceeded 1.6 billion rubles from January to May 2024, and there was one billion transactions.
"Payment turnover and the number of transactions using QR codes at Sber's partner banks have doubled since the beginning of the year. Partners connected to the platform have recorded an 80% rise in the number of clients using Sber's QR payment system each month since the beginning of the year," Tsarev said.
The SberPay service allows for payments in Sberbank Online, as well as through the apps of all partner banks.
The service currently has 16 partner banks, enabling a user to pay also via SberPay QR using the respective mobile apps, including Alfa-Bank, TBank , Sovcombank , Rosbank , MTS Bank , Uralsib , Fora Bank, SDM-Bank , Ozon , and Yandex Pay.
