Flour prices in Ukraine up 20% over June - analysts

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Prices for wheat flour in Ukraine grew by more than UAH 2,000 per tonne over June, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the APK-Inform news and analytical agency.

"The prices keep being pushed up by insufficiently active flour supplies because producers are withholding sales and reducing offer on the market as most of the processing facilities have been stopped for scheduled maintenance before a new season. In addition, problems with purchases of high-quality raw materials for processing due to limited offer on the market have also prompted prices to go up," APK-Inform said.

Since the start of June, prices for top-grade flour in Ukraine have grown by UAH 2,000-2,500 per tonne to reach UAH 12,500-14,200 per tonne EXW as of July 2, rising 16-25% over the month, it said.
