Zaporozhstal boosts steel roll output 46% in H1
MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - The Zaporozhstal steelworks boosted steel roll output 46.1% year-on-year in H1 2024 to 1.234 million tonnes, Ukrainian media reported, quoting company information.
The plant produced 1.486 million tonnes of crude steel and 1.527 million tonnes of pig iron, up 45.9% and 33.3%, respectively.
It produced 237,000 tonnes of pig iron, 236,700 tonnes of crude steel and 183,000 tonnes of roll in June alone.
Zaporozhstal steelworks raised steel roll output 60% in 2023 to 2.055 million tonnes. It produced 2.467 million tonnes of crude steel and 2.719 million tonnes of pig iron, up 70% and 35.3%, respectively. Average capacity utilization was 70% in 2023.
Zaporozhstal, one of Ukraine's biggest steel works, produces hot- and cold-rolled steel coils, sheet, strip and roll-formed sections.
