Moscow adds 99 more Canadians to stop list in reply to anti-Russian sanctions - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Russia has added a further 99 Canadian citizens to its stop list as a retaliatory measure, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"As a countermeasure, the Russian side is permanently closing entry to the Russian Federation for 99 Canadian citizens who are actively involved in devising and carrying out Ottawa's Russophobic policies," the ministry said in a statement published on its website.

This decision has been adopted in response to the "latest waves of anti-Russian sanctions" introduced by Canada, it said.

The Canadians added to the stop list include parliamentarians, officials of different ranks, businesspeople, managers of defense industry companies, experts, and the heads of media outlets, the ministry said.
