Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing statistics
MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - The number of people crossing the Ukrainian border grew 3.3% on July 22-28, versus 6%-9% in the previous weeks, while the number of vehicles crossing the border has decreased, Ukrainian media said, citing the statistical data published by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service on a social network.
There was an uptick in departures from 331,000 to 333,000 over the past week, while the number of arrivals grew from 296,000 to 315,000, the statement said.
The number of vehicles crossing the border decreased from 122,000 t0 116,000 week-on-week, while the number of humanitarian trucks went down from 580 to 566, it said.
As for transborder traffic by days, the service said that the number of departures traditionally increased on weekends and the day before weekends, while the number of arrivals grew on weekends and on Monday.
An update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees estimates the number of Ukrainian refugees at 6.555 million worldwide, including 5.997 million in Europe, as of June 13, which is 81,000 and 55,000 more, respectively, than in the previous month.
In April 2024, the UN estimated the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.548 million, or 141,000 less than at the beginning of this year.
