Kyrgyzstan looks forward to UN secretary-general's visit on July 1

BISHKEK. June 28 (Interfax) - United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit Kyrgyzstan in early July, the Kyrgyz presidential press service said on Friday with reference to Muratbek Azymbakiyev, head of the presidential office's foreign policy division.

"UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will visit [Kyrgyzstan] at Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov's invitation on July 1-3," Azymbakiyev said.

During the visit, Guterres will hold bilateral talks with Japarov and Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev in Cholpon-Ata and visit a UN Development Program project.

"The parties will discuss the condition of and prospects for cooperation within the UN framework and exchange opinions on relevant items on the international agenda," Azymbakiyev said.
