Kiev again ranks among EIU's 10 worst cities to live

MOSCOW. June 28 (Interfax) - Kiev ranks among the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)'s ten worst cities to live for the second year in a row, Ukrainian media said, adding that Kiev holds the 165th position in the ranking of 173 cities.

Kiev fits the description "most aspects of life are severely restricted," the statement said.

Kiev scored 44.5 points on a 100-point scale. Experts rated the stability of life (threats of military, civil conflicts, and crime rate) at 40 points, accessibility and quality of healthcare at 41.7 points, cultural life and environment (including factors of corruption, censorship, and climate) at 53.2 points, education at 75 points, and infrastructure at 26.8 points.

Kiev's "neighbors" in the rating are the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, and the capital of Papua New Guinea, Port Moresby.

Kiev scored 44 points and occupied the same 165th position in the 2023 ranking.

The best city to live in 2024 is Vienna, EIU said. The top ten also comprises three European cities - Copenhagen, Zurich and Geneva, two Canadian cities - Calgary and Vancouver, three cities in Australia and New Zealand- Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland, as well as Osaka in Japan.
