Irkutsk Aviation Plant orders 95 mln rubles worth of components in Belarus

MINSK. June 28 (Interfax) - Russia's Irkutsk Aviation Plant has signed contracts with Belarusian businesses totalling 95 million rubles, the director of the aviation department at the Belarusian Transport and Communication Ministry, Igor Golub said on TV channel Belarus 1.

"The plant has contracts with Belarusian manufacturers totalling about 95 million Russian rubles. These are contracts specifically for production of parts of assembly units, meaning components in which Belarus, as a high-tech country, specializes," Golub said.

"We're prepared to supply all this, and under this program there are already more than 1,300 types of assembly unit parts that we can supply to the Russian market to replace imports and build aircraft," Golub said.

"The orders of the Belarusian head of state are being carried out, volumes are being ramped up," he added.

President Alexander Lukashenko visited the Irkutsk Aviation Plant at the beginning of June, and while there he said "we want to be integrated into your high-tech processes." The plant is a branch of PJSC Yakovlev, which is a subsidiary of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) , which in turn is part of Russian state corporation Rostec.
