Ukraine exports 55 mln tonnes of cargo via Black Sea corridor - ministry

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Ukraine's exports via the Black Sea shipping route declared unilaterally by Kiev since August 2023 have reached 55 million tonnes, including 37.4 million tonnes of agrifood, Ukrainian media quoted the Restoration Ministry as saying.

"A record amount of cargo, 55 million tonnes handled at the Greater Odessa ports, has been transported in the ten months of the Ukrainian sea shipping corridor's operations," it said.

Ukraine's Black Sea ports have handled 1,954 vessels over this time.

Sixty-eight vessels are waiting to enter the Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny ports to export nearly 2 million tonnes of cargo, it said.

As reported in early June 2024, the shipping corridor had provided for exports of 50 million tonnes of cargo, and 1,737 vessels had been handled at Ukraine's Black Sea ports since it started functioning.
