Azerbaijani FM sees progress in peace treaty talks with Armenia

BAKU. June 27 (Interfax) - Progress has been made in negotiations on a peace treaty with Armenia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.

"Negotiations on a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia are continuing. Certain progress has been achieved. We forwarded the latest version of the draft to Armenia a few days ago," Bayramov said at a press briefing in Tbilisi on Thursday.

However, the Armenian constitution still contains a point on territorial claims against Azerbaijan, he said.

"This is one of the biggest hurdles on the path towards peace. We expect Armenia to take appropriate steps in this direction," he said.

Azerbaijan and Armenia are continuing border delimitation efforts, and there will soon be "good news" on this issue, Azerbaijani media cited Bayramov as saying.
