Ukraine boosts industrial production 11.2% in Q1

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Industrial production in Ukraine grew by 11.2% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2024, Ukrainian media reported Wednesday, citing the State Statistics Service.

Production grew by 12.9% in manufacturing in the quarter, 8.4% in mining and quarrying, and 9.9% in electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air supply.

Industrial production rose 5% year-on-year in March after surging by 12% in February and 17.2% in January, statistics showed. However, calendar adjusted and seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 26.5% and 28.6%, respectively, in March.

Production grew by 5.5% in manufacturing in March, 2.2% in mining and quarrying, and 7.7% in electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air supply.

The Statistics Service has revised its industrial production growth estimate for 2023 to 6.8% from the previously reported 5.9%. Industrial output in 2022 fell 36.7%.
