Ukraine's Nibulon starts harvesting wheat, rapeseed

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Nibulon LLC, one of the largest operators on Ukraine's grain market, has begun harvesting winter wheat and rapeseed, Ukrainian media reported, citing the company's press service.

The company has 13,500 hectares of early crops this year. It is now harvesting at branches of its Nikolayev cluster.

"Before the start of the harvest, the company carried out careful preparatory work, considering possible force majeure in the form of nature's caprices. Therefore, when in the southern part of Nikolayev region the wheat ripened a week earlier than normal due to drought, the company's engineering service was ready and managed to prepare harvesting machinery in time," Nibulon said.

The company also managed to update its fleet of machinery ahead of the harvest with the recent acquisition of ten Claas combines. The company is using 20 of its own combines and seven overloading trailers in the harvest in the south.

Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the logistics department, grain is being shipped quickly and properly from the field to the company's own elevators using up to 60 grain trucks with trailers, Nibulon said.

The company has also already begun preparing the soil for planting winter crops for harvest in 2025.

Nibulon, which was founded in 1991, previously owned 27 transshipment terminals and complexes for receiving crops with combined storage capacity of 2.25 million tonnes, and a fleet of 83 vessels. The company also owned the Nikolayev Shipyard, cultivated 82,000 hectares of land and exported agricultural products to over 70 countries. The company now operates at about 30% of capacity.
