Sberbank to remove Maestro, Virtual cards from circulation in July

MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Sberbank plans to remove the Maestro, Virtual, and PRO100 cards, respectively, from circulation in July, the bank said.

"The terms and conditions of service for them are long outdated, as the cards do not support contactless payments, and privileges from the Mir payment system are not available for them," Sberbank said.

Sberbank ceased issuing PRO100 cards in 2016, and Maestro and Virtual cards in 2017.

"Deposits and transfers to the accounts of Maestro cards, as well as Virtual and PRO100 cards, will continue to function, though payments for purchases and cash withdrawals from ATMs will not be available for these cards after July," the bank said.
