Vodafone to provide advisory support to Freedom Telecom

ALMATY. June 24 (Interfax) - The new Freedom Telecom operator has signed an agreement with Britain's Vodafone to provide advisory support, the head of Freedom Holding Timur Turlov said.

"The year has shown that technologies are changing very quickly, and new standards are emerging (...) Therefore, we were looking for a strategic partner that could provide us with consulting support, and this is Vodafone, with whom we have signed an agreement," Turlov said on social media.

According to him, cooperation with Vodafone grants the company access to the world's best technologies and practices, as well as innovation and experience.

In December 2023, Freedom Holding placed five-year dollar-denominated bonds worth $200 million on the Astana International Exchange (AIX) of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) in order to establish the new Freedom Telecom operator.

Freedom Holding Corp. is controlled by Kazakh entrepreneur Timur Turlov, a former Russian citizen.

The group conducts transactions on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, Astana International Exchange, Ukrainian Exchange, Tashkent Republican Stock Exchange, and Uzbek Republican Currency Exchange, as well as on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
