FAO calls tender for seed suppliers to implement voucher agricultural programs in Ukraine

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has invited suppliers of agricultural materials and products to participate in a tender to implement FAO's voucher programs in Ukraine, Ukrainian media said, citing the donor organization's press service.

Those eligible for participation in the program are farmers and households from a number of Ukrainian regions, such as the Chernigov, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Nikolayev, Odessa and Sumy regions, the press service said. They will be able to receive either a paper voucher or an electronic voucher from FAO for a certain amount of money to buy agricultural goods.

The following categories of agricultural inputs are relevant to the current call for applications: wheat, sunflower and soybean seeds, vegetable and potato seeds, fertilizers and plant protection products, agriculture-related supplies, tools and spare parts for agricultural equipment, it said.

In addition, suppliers are required to have necessary infrastructure and smooth-running logistics to store and deliver goods and to operate in the regions where this initiative will be implemented.
