Capital investment in Kazakhstan down 6.5% in 5M

ALMATY. June 21 (Interfax) - Capital investment in Kazakhstan fell 6.5% year-on-year in January-May 2024 to 4.895 trillion tenge, the Strategic Planning and Reforms Agency's National Statistics Bureau said.

The mineral resource sector received 26.7% of the investment, real estate 22%, transport and logistics 14.4% and manufacturing 10.5%.

Businesses provided the bulk of the investment with 3.655 trillion tenge, the budget 12.1%, bank loans 3.9% and other borrowed funds 9.4%, of which non-residents 2.4%.
