Russia to organize expedition in 2024-2025 to assess water bio-resources in African economic zones

MOSCOW. June 20 (Interfax) - The Russian government has tasked the Federal Agency for Fishery to organize an exploratory expedition in 2024-2025 to assess water bio-resources in the exclusive economic zones of African countries using vessels of the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography.

"The Federal Agency for Fishery is tasked with organizing an exploratory exhibition in 2024-2025 to assess the stock of water bio-resources in the exclusive economic zones of African countries using vessels operated by the federal state budget research center, the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography," a government resolution says.

According to the document published on the official website of legal information, the agency is to set up an office to prepare and carry out the expedition, while the Russian Foreign Ministry is tasked to facilitate the vessels' calls at foreign ports.

The expedition will be funded from the agency's budget.
