VLADIVOSTOK. June 19 (Interfax) - The Eastern Economic Forum due to take place in Vladivostok on September 3-6 will highlight enhanced international cooperation in the Asia Pacific region and the development of the Far East and the Arctic, the Roscongress Foundation's press service said.

"The Eastern Economic Forum traditionally serves as a venue for discussion of key issues in the comprehensive development of both the Russian Far East and Arctic, and the Asia Pacific region in general. In particular, forum participants - officials and members of the business and expert communities - will discuss such issues as population maintenance, higher quality of life and living conditions, personnel training, and modernization of infrastructure," Russian presidential aide, executive secretary of the Eastern Economic Forum organizing committee Anton Kobyakov said, as quoted by the press service.

The forum will highlight the further strengthening of international cooperation in the light of the growing role of Southeast Asian countries in the global multipolar economy, he said.

The Eastern Economic Forum will take place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. Its business agenda will be supplemented with the Vladivostok Seasons festival and a sports program. There will be a traditional Far East Street exhibition to familiarize visitors with the cultural, economic and innovative potential of Far Eastern regions. The second Day of the Falcon international event will take place on the forum's opening day.
