Hevel to commission second solar power plant in Chechnya in Q3
GROZNY. June 19 (Interfax) - Hevel Group of Companies plans to commission a solar power plant (SPP) with a capacity of 9.2 MW in the Achkhoy-Martan district of Chechnya in the third quarter of 2024, the company's press service told Interfax.
"Currently, construction and installation work has been completed at the facility, voltage has been supplied to the solar power plant, and commissioning work is underway. Commissioning of the facility and its entry into the retail electricity market is planned for the third quarter of this year," the press service said.
The volume of generated electricity is projected to reach 13 million kWh per year, which will ensure an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 4,500 tonnes.
"All generated electricity from the solar power plant will be supplied to the unified energy system of the region, and then distributed to consumers, providing power to both industrial enterprises and the residential sector," the company said.
This is the group's second solar power plant in the republic.
Hevel commissioned the 5-MW Naur SPP in the summer of 2021 in Chechnya. The investment in the plant was 500 million rubles. It was reported in August of that same year that Hevel was planning to build a second, more powerful solar power plant in the republic's Achkhoy-Martan region. The investment then was estimated at over 800 million rubles.
Hevel is the largest solar energy company in Russia. The group was founded in 2009 and, according to its website, is the only vertically integrated manufacturer of solar modules in Russia. Hevel Group has implemented over one hundred projects in Russia with a total capacity of over 1 GW.
